I) Categories:

II) Repertoire (The Jury will select the pieces or excerpts to be performed,  repeats at the discretion of the performer

1) Solo Vocal 

A thirty-minute program of repertoire from the baroque era, including pieces from the bellow, and using at least 2 languages

Own choice of strophic song (3 verses)
Monteverdi, Claudio: Own choice of opera excerpt
Own choice of Recitative and Aria /

2) Baroque Era Melodic Instrument

・Common pieces for Recorder and Baroque flute
      Own choice of variation using diminution technique
・Common pieces for woodwind instruments  (e.g. Recorder,
 Baroque flute, Baroque oboe):
Hotteterre, Jacques Martin: Own choice of suite
Sammartini, Giuseppe: Own choice of sonata

・Recorder:
 originally composed for recorder post 1970 (< 10 minutes)
 Own choice concerto

・Baroque flute:
 Bach, Johann Sebastian: Own choice sonata

・Baroque oboe:
 Telemann, Georg Philipp: Own choice from
 Zwölf Methodische Sonaten (1728,1732)/

・Violin:
 Own choice of Variation using diminution technique
Marini, Biago: Own choice piece
Westhoff, Johann Paul von: Own choice suite
Couperin, François: Own choice concert
Own choice concerto

・Viola da Gamba:
  Ortiz, Diego: Own choice piece
  Finger, Gottfried (Godfrey): Own choice piece
  Marais, Marin: Own choice suite (ca. 10 minutes)
  Bach, Johann Sebastian: Own choice sonata

・Cello:
   Frescobaldi, Girolamo: Own choice of canzon
   Barrière, Jean-Baptiste: Own choice of sonata
Geminiani, Francesco: Own choice of sonata
Own choice of concerto

Instrumentalists not mentioned above:
Please compile an own-choice program of about thirty minutes

Note for both categories : Accompaniment for opera, concerto, or chamber music, etc. must be transcribed for one instrument

III)  Accompanying Instruments (applicants may be accompanied by lutenist or guitarist etc.)

The committee provides harpsichords:
Italian harpsichord, transposable A415/A440/A466
Double-manual harpsichords, transposable A392/ A415/ A440

Ⅳ) Terms of Entry
a) The competition is open to anyone, regardless of age, nationality or experience

Application period: 3.3. 2025 – 28.3.2025

b) Applicants must submit the following:

Completed application form
List of pieces, including the duration and pitch of each piece
Six copies of all scores in A4 format, each piece bound separately

(Application form, Program and Copies of music must be sent together and received by March 28, 2025 at the latest)

c) A registration fee of JPY 10,000 must be paid by March 28, 2025

V) Competition Schedule (Both rounds are open to the public for free)

Venues:                Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall, Kofu                                    Hall of Prefectural Library, Yamanashi

Preliminary Round:       April 25 & 26, 2025 (exact details provided
 after closing date)
Final Round:               April 27, 2025 about 11:00

VI) Commendation (immediately after the judging on April 27)
